A shift in your day to day life without a clear reason, a sudden realisation, an unexpected wave of emotions, a feeling of standing at crossroads without a clear direction or the urge to change something, anything.

Such moments often arrive unannounced and are meant to string something within us.
Specialists call this a transition trigger, a term to define an internal response to a shift.
Most of the time, these moments are tied to clear events: birthdays, new years, the start of a month, or major life changes. Other times, they emerge quietly, as if life itself is nudging us to pay attention.
A solar eclipse happened just a few days ago, on March 29th. Yet, I chose to share this today, on April 1st not because the eclipse has passed, but because its impact lingers. Transitions don’t have to be tied to a single moment.
Just as we use certain dates as fresh starts, consider this post an invitation. A pause. A reminder that now, whenever you’re reading this, can be your turning point.
Recently, many of us have felt an internal shift that can’t quite be put into words. Even if you don’t follow cosmic events, an eclipse—like any other transition marker, can be used as a subconscious reset, a moment to step back and ask yourself what truly matters for you?
It’s a wake-up call to see the bigger picture, beyond the fragments we might have been hyperfocused on lately.
Reset, balance, gratitude and internal peace.
But what's the actual meaning of a solar eclipse? Or better asked, in what way does it affect us? If at all?
First of all, these moments are to be experienced and understood with emotional clarity, not with the intention of rationalising them.
It's something felt, not intellectually processed.
Remember — the unconscious mind works with emotions, metaphors and symbols. And all change is unconscious.
Eclipses act like mirrors — They reflect the part of us that that we've ignored, the truths we've sidestepped, the emotions we've buried.
And when the dust settles, we are left with it something. Perhaps a discomfort, a massive longing, a question we didn't know we needed to ask until now.
Eclipses have always carried a sense of mystery. Moments when the familiar and comforting light of the sun disappears. In ancient times, this was seen as an omen, something bigger was at play. And in a way, this is still true today.
Symbolistically, solar eclipses mark an energetic turning point. They disturb the status quo, exposing what’s hidden, stir unresolved emotions and push us towards something new.
Everything is accelerated, as if the fast forward button has been pushed.
In Vedic astrology, a solar eclipse is a karmic gateway, as the sun is the cosmic representation of self, vitality and soul.
It is believed that these are times for deep introspection and not outward action, as eclipses are thought to distort reality — blurring clarity, heighten illusions and bring karmic patterns to the surface.
So, this solar eclipse we've experienced is not simply about what is visible in the sky — but about what it stirs within.
Following such events or not, the psychological impact is undeniable. It's only a matter of whether we choose to take advantage of this invitation to self discovery or not.
Although each person has their own experience, depending on many subjective life aspects, it’s normal to feel sudden emotional waves of grief, nostalgia or clarity over certain emotional matters. Mental fog or persistent pulls towards new ideas, decisions, directions and desires are also common.
Most importantly, pay attention to what your subconscious mind is surfacing — it is a time when it is sorting through everything and offers messages through vivid dreams, symbols and sensations.
So trust your intuition, whenever you feel pulled or a sudden interest towards something. Every message and sensation your body experiences might try to tell you something.
Now, from a psychological point of view, why does this happen?
The brain loves routine and familiarity. When something disrupts that, our nervous system reacts. It senses a shift and whether we consciously acknowledge it or not, our inner world responds.
So, why should we use the solar eclipse as a wakeup call?
Because the human mind naturally categorises time — anniversaries, new years, birthdays, new months.
We assign meaning to transitions, seeing them as opportunities to reset.
We can integrate this solar eclipse as one of these transition markers and trigger our subconscious to realign with who we truly are, free of social conditioning.
Such changes take time, but the seeds can be planted now.
Sit with your emotions and ask what they are trying to tell you. Don't rush to “fix” them and don't try to “keep busy” in hope they will go away.
The way to release the pressure is by understanding your emotions and be compassionate with them.
In reality, it's you who is receiving all of that.
Ground yourself in the present moment, however it works best for you (nature walks, breathwork, gentle move, working with plants are some ideas).
If it's something that helps you, or you feel it might, write down what's surfacing from your inner world. Patterns and clarity emerge when we give them space.
Ask yourself any questions that arise within you. Everyone's realisations are different.
The eclipse may have passed, but its message remains. Take a breath, take a step.
With love & light,
Julia.
